National Geographic says Idaho Falls is an Adventure Town
Across the borders into Montana and Wyoming-just two hours from Idaho Falls are Yellowstone National Park and Grand Teton National Park. Within an hour's drive of Idaho Falls you'll find world famous Henry's Fork and South Fork of the Snake River, which provide some of the best fly fishing in the world. A number of popular lakes and reservoirs lie close at hand, including Henry's Lake, Island Park Reservoir, Bear Lake, and five other recreation-friendly reservoirs.
Jackson Hole and Grand Targhee are a mere hour and a half away, and world-famous Sun Valley is just three hours from Idaho Falls. Also popular are the Island Park area (formed by the same natural forces as Yellowstone) and the region's various ski resorts.
